Names of people in sumeru city were all middle East. Most of the places names in sumeru were Indian origin though like vimara, vanara, ghandharva etc.
entire port ormos and surrounding area is totally south asia(including India). entire desert is going to be Egypt. 100% of aranara names are based on Indian mythology though.

persian frequently make an appearance in chinese historical tales, other than the mongol, the persian are the only major empire of equal size that border China. this only change when the rise of buddhism and muslim influence started replacing persia and tibetan(buddhism) and turk(muslim) became the dominate culture in the west of China. but Chinese always has a special spot for Persia, as one of the culture that has been with them from the beginning of history...

I dont play genshin, but Im part of the fandom because of the detail and stories, lore and character structures it has in store. This further makes the game more immersive, seeing how they spared no budget to offer this level in ost. Unlike other movies or games where they pull up the overused audios of flutes and drums and a background woman's vocals...they actually value and bring in the music and the instruments of the cultures the setting is inspired from, and I salute to that.

I asked some of my friends that don't play genshin about what country comes to their mind while hearing this, and they have different opinions. Some said it's Arab, some India, and few said Turkey or middle east. I can see one of the whys people argue about which country Sumeru is based on :)

There is a lot of cultural exchange from Turkish, Persian, Arab, and Indian cultures in that area of the world. For example, the Mughal Empire, which ruled most of Persia and India before British colonization, was ruled by a Turkish-Mongolic tribe, the rulers spoke Persian, the commoners spoke Hindustani, the religious language was Arab. There are a lot of shared cultural elements so it makes sense to blend them all together.

To be honest the first day of the update was pretty jarring for me because of the OST, like it says I'm in the Grand bazaar and the music there has nothing to do with traditional Turkish music, and then during an aranara quest with many Indianesque names suddenly Turkish music comes out.. It was jarring to say the least, but the OST on it's own is amazing

Genshin Impact is one of the best Gacha games I've ever played (and only one played lol) to this day. The characters, gameplay, and story is just out of this world. Not to mention the consistant updates for new events. But then there is the music.. its just the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. I am a musician myself and this inspires me to play more everyday to try and better myself. The way this orchestra conveyed the emotion is outstanding :'). Brought a tear to this fellow keyboard and electric guitar player's eyes.

    2.西塔琴,可以说是印度最具代表性的印度古典乐器。印度西塔琴大师 Ravi Shankar(拉维香卡)无疑的是印度西塔琴推向西方听众,甚至于推向全世界的最重要的功臣。
Popular science of some national musical instruments: 1. Ude Qin is a traditional plucked instrument used in North Africa, West Asia and Central Asia. Ude Qin is regarded as the predecessor of Chinese pipa and European lute. As modern guitar is extended from one kind of lute, Ude is also regarded as the ancestor of guitar. 2. The sitar can be said to be the most representative Indian classical instrument in India. Ravi Shankar, the Indian sitar master, is undoubtedly the most important contributor to the spread of Indian sitar to western audiences and even to the whole world. 3. Bansuli (Bansuli), also known as (Bansi/Murali/Venu.) is an Indian bamboo flute. It is a depiction of Indian historic sites and temples. In Indian classical literature and literature, Bansuli is everywhere, among which there are impressive portraits of Krishna playing the horizontal flute. Suri flute is mostly made of bamboo, but also reed. Traditionally, there are two kinds of bansuli flutes, horizontal flutes and straight flutes. The horizontal flutes are smaller than the straight flutes, and the lengths of bamboo tubes vary from 28 cm to 50 cm. Generally, flutes have eight flutes (seven flutes in the front section and one flute in the back section) with different pitches and intervals. In Indian classical music, horizontal flute is used, while straight flute is only used in some folk songs. (Welcome to add, guys will take me up)

I'm blown away, even as a mobile player, how much effort and resources MiHoYo puts into the details. I sincerely hope that there will be true-to-quality Genshin Impact animated series some day. no because if you show this to someone who doesn’t have an idea about genshin or even game culture in general, they never would have guess this is for a anime styled gacha game. Absolutely awesome

It's been an honour and privilege to be part of this journey as a humble player these past two years. The music of Genshin Impact is just awe inspiring, a true marvel to behold. Kudos👏👏👏

first minute and a half absolutely hits hard. Whenever I heard it I always felt it was like Rukkhadevatas theme, I guess in a way I was right

The bit on the opening part reminds me of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade. I think the reference to the musical piece and to Scheherazade's Thousand Tales works really well with Sumeru's overall theme and I find it to be neat. (I wonder if the Version name, The Morn a Thousand Roses Brings, is intentional? Because it feels like it also goes with the 1001 tales theme.)

@Max Hohn I really like Scheherazade too! It's really nice to see that the composer is drawing inspirations from it.

Scheherazade is literally my favorite classical music piece in the world, to hear this music and know I'll be able to be reminded of Scheherazade every minute i spend in sumeru is amazing.

As a musician in Trinidad and Tobago, we have East Indian influence in everything, including music. To hear the sitar and tabla used in this is so refreshing and beautiful!!! Gonna let my Indian friends listen to this!!!!

An applause to all those musicians involved in this play, as a viewer I would say that, the way they showed everyone on the orquestra and the music itself, was beautiful. Thank You.👏👏👏
